Peer Review Committees and Mandates – Canada Graduate Research Scholarship – Doctoral (CGRS D) Program

CIHR’s Canada Graduate Research Scholarship (CGRS D) is provided to trainees who are pursuing a doctoral degree in a health-related field:

  • The Canada Graduate Research Scholarship – Doctoral (CGRS D) program provides special recognition and support to students who are pursuing a doctoral degree in a health-related field in Canada or abroad.

The evaluation of Doctoral applications focuses on the applicant's track record, research potential and relevant experience and achievements obtained within and beyond academia.

Applications are assigned to one of the two multi-disciplinary committees described below based on the scientific area of the proposed research activitiesFootnote *.

Canada Graduate Research Scholarship - Doctoral : A (DT1)

This multi-disciplinary committee reviews Doctoral applications, with a generalist’s perspective, to assess the candidate’s potential of attaining competence as a prospective researcher in biomedical and/or clinical research.

Canada Graduate Research Scholarship - Doctoral : B (DT2)

This multi-disciplinary committee reviews Doctoral applications, with a generalist’s perspective, to assess the candidate’s potential of attaining competence as a prospective researcher in health services research and/or social, cultural, environmental and population health research.
